Did you know that a 1.5-ounce of Hershey’s chocolate contains about the same amount of caffeine in a decaffeinated cup of coffee? Chocolate contains theobromine. Theobromine increases heart rate and causes those Z’s to disappear. This is why the National Sleep Foundation recommends that you avoid chocolate and anything containing caffeine as it not only causes sleeplessness but also can affect you 12 hours after you consumed it.
